Image
I thought I’d share with you the projects I submitted for the Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Guest DT.   Here are my projects and after are the details of the Dream Grow Inspire project. Faith, Heart, Dreams, Love BUTTERFLY   DREAM, GROW, INSPIRE, LEARN   Phew!! Finally I got this project done and I love it!! Materials I used will be listed below after my step by step process! Well, sort of step by step! This is Mixed Media so you have free range to mix it all up! First thing first is put a layer of gesso on my paper. I let that air dry naturally. I really didn’t want to warp the paper with the heat gun. Once dried I then used a leaf stencil I created on my cameo with overhead transparency. I love creating my own stencils! I placed the leaf stencil on top of the gesso paper and smeared modeling paste all over it and lifted it up! I repeated the process in 3 other areas of the paper. I then let that air dry. When I came back to my project I just used all my Faber Castel Desi

I want more Authentique paper.. I had put myself on a paper ban.. the only paper I can get is what comes in the SC kits.. So glad this sheet was in there

Image
Omgosh, it as been forever since I've created a card.  I have been in a blah blah mood and too busy buying things from the ScrapYard on Facebook.   Then my laptop crashed this past week, which i lost all my Favorite places i like to do challenges in.    So there I was yesterday, wanting to do a card and couldn’t remember for the life of me where I would go.  I only remembered one.  SO i asked the question out at the ScrapYard and of course they deliver! I was able to find some nice blogs. I found some NEW BLOGS I've never heard about and that would include Celebrate the Occasion . The card I created is for their 72nd challenge which is to create a project that must have at least 3 stars in it.  Easy enough right??  When i saw STARS I knew I wanted to use the Studio Calico veneer stars and my SC  moon stamp set and PTI cloud dies (all which i bought off the ScrapYard).  SO this is what I came up with. I used TIM HOLTZ distress inks (dusty concord, tumbled glass, scattered str

Say it with Paper Piecing & Sketch challenge

Image
Well Annabelle stamps has a challenge with Paper piecing. I hope this counts as paper piecing.. I paper pieced the entire background paper.  It is a mixture of  Echo Park Times & Season paper and  & 7 Gypsies.    if this doesn’t count I paper pieced this balloon.. balloons & sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps  Diva Set.  its not my best card but.. hmmm it was using a sketch from Card Pattern's .  I will be posting this as a submittal for their site.   I tried to make the sketch more masculine.  I have issues with making masculine cards..     I just turned the sketch around to make it vertical and the flower embellishment I made that the balloons.

Right now I am in a layout kick. Which I’m loving because I am so behind in my layouts.  Well on with the show… Card Pattern 169 Sketch: My Take on the sketch: Video of the process:  I tried to keep it in real time, I was thinking I can do this card in 10-15 mins flat.. well I didn’t took me like 30-45. hahaha  and that’s with having the two middle shapes and girl cut out and colored.  haha

SCT Challenge #17

Image
Challenge was to create a card with corners!  Here is my take on that.  This is a 4 1/2” x 4 1/2” card.  Patterned paper by Echo Park Times & Seasons.   Challenge over at  Scrapbook & Cards Today

SCT Challenge #13

Image
This challenge was to create a project using something vintage, or a piece of memorabilia on your layout.  The memorabilia I used is the ticket stub to the baseball game. This is a layout of my nephew. I love taking pictures of him. He is too cute.  I love the pic of him standing with the glove in front of his face.  This pose reminds me of John Travolta in Grease where he is trying out baseball.     Ok this is my 1st time using washi tape and trying to do all that layering and mix of papers.  I’m not use to doing that. I’m just use to base being patterned then solid straight cut for the matting of the photos.  This is odd for me.  I am not liking it.. :/   This is also me finally using the Studio Calico kits.  I have 4 kits that I haven't’ even used so I decided to get those out and use them.  You don’t wanna see my scrap space its horrible.  Challenge over at Scrapbook & Cards Today.. ++++++ OK I updated this. I was at work all day thinking about this layout and

SCT Challenge 12

Image
Was to make a custom pin embellishment.  So the pin I had already had a pearl on top. SO I decided to cut 4 layers of flowers from an old SU punch.  I think this would look so cute on a card.!   Challenge over at Scrapbook & Cards today

SCT challenge 2 & Studio Calico Go Graphic NSD Challenge:

Image
This challenge was to create a layout using the sketch provided on the SCT website.. Then for Studio calico I had to GO GRAPHIC! Here is my take on it.. I struggled with this one.  Again I do not really like this.  I tried doing misting.  then I didn’t really like it so I tried to cover it up. But then I wanted to use the mask to distress it.  IDK… Still not use to this whole distressing and misting trend that is happening.  Of course for the graphic had to use the hexagon kinda thing!  Challenge over at Scrapbook & Cards today Challenge over at S t udio Calico ----  UPDATE… As I did with the layout for SCT #17.. I redid it because well I was not happy with all the misting I did.  I just trashed the misted white paper and used another white cardstock and distressed it with distressing tool using the MASK I made on my cameo using transparency sheet. This is so much cleaner for me.. I like this one!
